After finishing Series 2, I wondered what could happen from here? Rose is gone, the Doctor is alone, and the story must go on. I had a few expectations after The Runaway Bride that were completely thrown out the window by the next episode. Martha Jones became the Doctor’s new companion, not Donna.
Despite the surprise in that realisation, I have been enjoying Martha as the Doctor’s companion so far and I am excited to see where they go from here.
